Annual & Community Events

Residents and visitors flock to Sidney’s annual events. It is hard to imagine a community more committed to celebrating with such flair and enthusiasm! Beginning in February, Family Day weekend is a festival of all things Lego with 3 days of activities and events for kids of all ages.  Summer kicks off with the Sidney Street Market every Thursday night, a weekly happening that showcases local crafts, produce, music and culinary delights. Not to be missed are Sidney’s two annual parades, one on Canada Day, the other at the end of November to launch the holiday season. Floats, fun, and music abound in celebration of the best the community has to offer. Summer brings extraordinary free events such as World Ocean’s Day, Summer Sounds, the Torque Master’s Car Show, Bed Races on Beacon, merchants’ sidewalk sales, and multiple events at the Mary Winspear Centre including the First Nation, Inuit and Metis Art Show. The Sidney Fine Art Show, the ArtSea Fest, and Treat Street are just a few of the colourful fall events. Christmas in Sidney is a holiday extravaganza that features carol singers, a festival of trees, picturesque shop windows, charming horse and carriage rides and more. With something for everyone, Sidney’s annual events offer fun for the entire community!
